#07 -Writing for vanity!

Maybe you have no ambition for your work other than to see it published and have some printed copies, with a nice glossy cover, to hand round at parties and send to all your friends at Christmas. If this is the case, then you have the freedom to write as you wish, write as you feel you should, and write simply as you consider guided. But beware … and do not fall into the trap of self satisfaction that will possibly hide or at the very least mask your writing abilities to such an extent that others close to you may not recognize the writer at all. If the process of writing for vanity is to hold any merit, it must surely be that a piece of you has been put to paper for all time … not some unrecognizable individual who writes only for self titillation. This often applies to vanity works in the Romance, Historical Fiction and Erotica genres.
